Ski discount deadline nears: Three resorts are offering a $399 season pass. Early season pass rates for Liberty Mountain, Whitetail Resort and Ski Roundtop are $399 for a single or first-person family season pass, and $299 for each additional family member. This price is 30 percent lower than last season’s rates.The $399 season pass is an unrestricted pass, valid from opening to closing every day that any of the resorts are in operation for the entire 2008-09 winter season. Guests can go directly to the lift without stopping at the ticket windows. The $399 rate is available through Oct. 31. After that date, the price goes up to $599.
Liberty Mountain and Whitetail Resort are in Pennsylvania about 75 miles northwest of both Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Ski Roundtop is about 10 miles south of Harrisburg, Pa., and 50 miles north of Baltimore.
The season for all three resorts is typically from early December to mid-March. They have night skiing and snowboarding and state-of-the-art snow-making systems.
