Centreville woman dies in car accident

A 29-year-old Centreville woman was killed in a single-car accident early Friday morning.

An investigation revealed that a 2002 Jaguar was traveling westbound on Braddock Road near Belle Pond Drive when the driver apparently lost control. The vehicle crossed the eastbound lanes of Braddock Road, left the paved portion of the roadway and struck a fence. The Jaguar struck a shed before coming to rest.

The driver, Tiffany Dawne Degroft, 29, of 1444 Black Horse Court in Centreville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Degroft was alone in the vehicle.

 The investigation is continuing.

This is the 16th fatal crash in Fairfax County this year. Last year at this time there had been 35 fatal crashes, resulting in 38 deaths.
