Wild animals, wild models and even wilder humor: I really didn’t think we needed a sequel to “Madagascar.” It was OK, but didn't really blow my socks off in 2005. But I’ll admit it, I was wrong. Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Chris Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer), and Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith) are back as those lovable New York Zoo animals that are a long way from home. Now the penguins take them on a flight that is headed home, but they land in Africa instead. Here the animals will find out about themselves and their roots.

"Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” is fun. The featured music is well done and the dialogue is snappy enough to keep the kids interested. Better than the original, this film is fun for all ages.

'Role Models'

In "Role models," Danny Donahue (Paul Rudd) speaks in front of high school groups encouraging kids to stay off drugs and drink the energy drink he promotes. His sidekick, Wheeler (Seann William Scott), relishes his Minotaur costume.

When they cross the law, nothing could prepare them for the 150 hours at Sturdy Wings (a Big Brothers type of program) to which they are sentenced.

“Role Models” is raw but funny. It features intense language, and it’s got a bit of everything including big laughs. Although it's not for all, I had a really twisted good time. A couple of flat spots prevent this from being a great comedy.

These guys may not be role models, but everyone here will learn a bit more about himself or herself from the experience.

'Soul Man'

Louis Hinds (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd Henderson (Bernie Mac) are legendary soul singers in "Soul Man." They were two-thirds of a hot trio until their lead singer took off on his own solo career. Now that Marcus (John Legend) has died, Louis and Floyd are on their way to reunite and perform at his funeral. But will these old friends make it there without killing each other?

This film was bittersweet. The “Mac Man” still makes me laugh but knowing that he has recently died muted the death jokes. I did find a lot of the film very funny though, as Jackson and Mac work very well together.

You will get two men sharing one stage having lots of fun.

Be sure to stick through the credits for a poignant tribute to Bernie.
