Man pleads guilty to pro-Nazi vandalism
Ronald Bost, Jr., age 49, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty on Nov. 7 to two counts of vandalism and was sentenced by United States Magistrate Judge T. Rawles Jones Jr., to 17 days in jail (time served) and two years of supervised probation, to be followed by three years of unsupervised probation.
According to court documents, from approximately June 15, 2006 to Aug. 9, 2006, Bost repeatedly vandalized a construction site located along Memorial Ave. in Arlington, by writing “Heil Hitler” in black ink on barricades and signs. On one of the barricades, Bost wrote, “Heil Hitler death to Jews.” Bost also drew swastikas and other Nazi symbols on barrels and signs at the construction site.
According to court documents, on or about Dec. 2, 2006, Bost also vandalized a portable toilet station at the Iwo Jima Memorial by writing in black ink,“Allah hates Jews & faggots” and “Bush,” with a swastika replacing the letter "S" in “Bush." After an investigation, the United States Park Police detectives identified Bost as the vandal responsible for these incidents.
As special conditions of probation, Bost must participate in mental health counseling and must stay out of federal park lands of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia for the next five years, except when driving on commuter roads or traveling by Metro.
