Lake Fairfax Park employees charged with embezzlement

Fairfax County detectives from the Reston District Station, in cooperation with officials from the Fairfax County Park Authority, began an investigation into allegations of embezzlement involving Park Authority employees in July of this year.

Information received by the Park Authority indicated employees at the Water Mine Facility at Lake Fairfax Park, 1400 Lake Fairfax Drive in Reston were allegedly taking money from the daily proceeds brought in by park activities. The subsequent investigation has resulted in the arrest of two county employees.

Michael Andrew Golino, 23, of Griffith Place and Justin Thomas Hogan, 21, of Butterwood Falls Terrace in Sterling, have each been charged with one count of embezzlement.

The investigation is ongoing and additional suspects may be charged.
